About the Associate Board

The Associate Board (“AB”) is composed of 10–20 passionate and committed volunteers who collaborate to execute fundraising, event planning, and advocacy. The objective of the AB is to help ensure the long-term sustainability and scalability of Better World International and to advocate for its mission to advance entrepreneurship, education, and community empowerment.

This will be the inaugural cohort of the Associate Board, an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to shape something new and innovative from the ground up. Members will help establish the structure, culture, and traditions that will guide the Associate Board for years to come.

Each new class of the Associate Board kicks off at the start of the fiscal year on January 1. For this inaugural cohort, recruitment will take place through the remainder of 2025, with official terms beginning in January 2026. Members serve a minimum one-year term, while Lead roles require a longer minimum commitment to ensure continuity and impact.

Commitment and Expectations

  • Uphold the mission and core values of Better World International in your work with the AB and the broader community
  • Commit 7–8 hours per month
  • Commit 1 year at minimum (Jan 1 – Dec 31). Lead roles have a longer minimum commitment
  • Fundraise $2,500 minimum in your first year and $5,000 annually in subsequent years (these minimums should not limit even greater aspirations!)

  • Attend and actively participate in at least 2 of Better World International’s annual events (e.g., fundraising events, awareness drives, or community outreach)
